Delighting Audiences With Old Favorites & Pop Hits

Friends since their early days in Boyertown's High School Marching Band, Dave Stauffer and Richard Thomas have been performing music together for a long time.  Nights and weekends, expect to find them at various restaurants, cafes, and events throughout Southeastern, PA, delighting audiences with a wide array of old favorites and pop hits.

About:

Dave Stauffer graduated from TempleUniversity in 2015 with a bachelor’s in Percussion Performance.  He has had countless opportunities and experiences as a musician.  During high school, Dave was able to tour Italy with the BASH music department in 2009 and be a member of the PMEA All State Orchestra in 2010 (thus earning him the nickname “All-State Dave”).  After entering Temple University, Dave became the captain of the Temple Drumline, principal percussionist for the Temple University Wind Symphony, and president of the Temple University Percussion Club his senior year.  While in college, he performed at the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, the movie premiere of Kevin James’ “Here Comes the Boom”, on Good Morning America, at the McCormick Marimba Festival in Tampa, the CBDNA festival in Nashville, and with the Philadelphia Orchestra (to name a few).  Dave’s percussion teachers include Steve Weisel, Steve Weiser, Buzz Saylor, Phil O’Banion, and Chris Deviney.

Currently, Dave is the Director of Christian Education at First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville.  He teaches drum lessons out of his home studio to over 15 students a week ranging in age from 6 to 60, and also teaches the Pottstown and Boyertown high school drumlines.

Richard graduated from GettysburgCollege as a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance with a Compositional Focus in the Spring of 2016.  He is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with a background in saxophone, violin, piano, and guitar.  Richard has performed in orchestras, jazz bands, marching bands, choirs, chamber groups, fiddling circles, musicals, rock bands, and opera casts, creating a diverse musical experience that can draw from a large pool of genres.  Richard's vocal teachers include Jeffrey Fahnestock, Tamara Black, and Gioacchino "Jack" Li vigni. He studied composition with Avner Dorman.

As a composer, Richard has most recently been selected by the world-class Pittsburgh Symphony to have his symphonic concert opener "Door on the Floor" performed as part of a young composer concert.

Currently, Richard works as a graphic designer of promotional products at CIV Enterprises and has taken on The Rather Be Band as a serious vocation alongside his other pursuits.
