Birmingham Six Logo

Birmingham Six was formed in the Fall of  2006. Taking its name from the six men  wrongfully convicted of the 1974  Birmingham Pub bombings, the band mixes  Traditional, Rebel, Contemporary, and  Original Irish music to form its sound. The  members’ influences are varied and  combine nicely to create an energetic and  fun live show.  They draw influence from  The Pogues, Flogging Molly, and Clancy  Brothers.

B6 has had the opportunity to provide opening support for many internationally touring acts including: Derek Warfield & The Young Wolftones, The Tossers, and The Wolftones.  They have been referred to as the "Indie Rock Band of Irish Music" after performing a mix of original music and their own arrangements of traditional Irish songs.  The Six has produced three full length releases; Iron RationsThe Kessel Run, and most recently Move On.  They are tenured professionals prepared to offer listeners a tight and lively experience.

"With the excellent 'Move On,' (Birmingham Six is) poised to become one of the headliners in the Irish Festival circuit this fall.  They label themselves as an Irish Punk Rock band, but that is a narrow view of the versatility they display on the new disc."
