CLAY MCELWEE

Clay McElwee, a seasoned full-time guitarist with a rich 20-year history in the Philadelphia area, takes pride in his ability to master almost any musical style, spanning jazz, rock, acoustic, and electric genres, showcasing a genuine passion for guitar indulgence. Enjoying the diversity of his musical repertoire, Clay finds satisfaction in the uniqueness that sets him apart from other players. His offerings extend across a wide spectrum, from solo acoustic performances with vocals to the dynamic versatility of a full band, accommodating up to 11 pieces.

Amidst an impressive schedule of 250-300 performances annually, Clay has dedicated the past 15 years to teaching guitar, imparting knowledge to a diverse range of students, from beginners to advanced players. Notably, some of his students have pursued music studies in college, making a mark on both local and national stages.

Beyond his roles as a performer and educator, Clay is an avid collector of vintage tube amplifiers and guitars, channeling his passion into recording original music. Utilizing a blend of old-school technology and modern recording methods, Clay offers the flexibility to produce virtually any guitar tones desired for a project. He has released a CD titled "Space Monkey Mafia," available on iTunes and various online music platforms, and currently, he is immersed in the creation of two new guitar instrumental albums.
